GeelongPort has unveiled its inaugural Sustainability Strategy 2026–30, setting an ambitious pathway to become Australia’s most sustainable port.
As Victoria’s second largest port, GeelongPort is a major driver of the state’s economy – handling one quarter of Victoria’s total port trade, managing more than $10 billion in trade annually, and facilitating over 13 million tonnes of cargo each year.
The strategy reflects extensive collaboration with customers, Traditional Owners, government, industry, educators and the community, with 41 stakeholders contributing insights.
Over the next four years, GeelongPort will embed sustainability across its operations, with a commitment to achieve net zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 while supporting broader supply chain decarbonisation – positioning Geelong as a leader in sustainable trade.
