Congratulations to GMC major partner The Gordon, and member gForce who were part of a team that has taken out the prestigious Industry Collaboration Award at the 2025 Victorian Training Awards!
This recognition celebrates the groundbreaking Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre GEESP program – a collaborative initiative co-designed by Development Victoria, the Give Where You Live Foundation’s GROW initiative, gforce employment + recruitment, and national builder Built.
Delivered in partnership with gforce, The Gordon provided Certificate II in Construction Pathways training to apprentices working on GMC member Nyaal Banyul’s incredible waterfront development. This program exemplifies how industry, education, and community can unite to create meaningful employment and training opportunities.
The GEESP team’s success highlights The Gordon’s commitment to innovation and community impact in vocational education. We’re excited to see them represent Victoria at the upcoming Australian Training Awards!
Gordon student, Shirley Darcy also took out the Koorie student of the year award, while teachers Chris Dickeson – Teacher/Trainer of the Year (Construction Pathways) and Ben Pratt – Teacher/Trainer of the Year (Barbering) were finalists in the awards.
