October 16, 2025

We’re proud to celebrate Leanne Nelson, GMC’s Program Manager, for being named a finalist in the Business in Heels Gender Equity Awards. This recognition highlights Leanne’s outstanding commitment to advancing gender equity in the manufacturing sector.

Through her leadership of programs such as Girls Leading Advanced Manufacturing, Seed2STEM, and the Women in Manufacturing Network Mentoring Program, Leanne has championed opportunities for girls and women to thrive in traditionally male-dominated industries. Her work has empowered countless girls and women to succeed in industry as well as fostering more inclusive and diverse workplaces.

Leanne said it’s been a privilege to lead these programs working alongside smart, tenacious women and girls – and the supportive male allies who champion them. “Recognition like this is really about shining a light on their courage, capability and leadership. I’m grateful to be part of it.”

The Business in Heels Gender Equity Awards acknowledge and honor those making significant strides in promoting gender equity. By showcasing best practices, celebrating progress, and inspiring change, the awards highlight individuals and organisations creating inclusive, diverse workplaces and serve as a catalyst for broader societal change.
