GMC member RPC Technologies’ work with Collins Class submarines and ANZAC frigates as well as the Bushmaster and Hawkei vehicles has been featured in Composites Australia’s latest Connection Magazine.
The feature story highlights RPC’s engineering culture which has enabled the team to complete complex engineering projects across many sectors, including water, wastewater, defence, transport, and infrastructure.
Managing Director Tony Caristo explains RPC Technologies engineering culture.
“We operate across multiple boundaries/entities and countries as One RPC, a strategic initiative designed to integrate our engineering, manufacturing and operations, standardise our processes, and enhance collaboration across our group to tackle complex composite engineering challenges in water, wastewater, defence, transport, and asset services. and infrastructure sectors.
“Consolidating our expertise, technologies, and capabilities into a single cohesive framework we provide more efficient, consistent, and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” he said.
RPC has delivered major defence and infrastructure projects using advanced composite technologies. In defence, RPC supports Collins Class submarines and ANZAC frigates with acoustic windows and sonar domes, enhancing durability and acoustic transparency. It also supplies ballistic protection and lightweight components for Bushmaster and Hawkei vehicles. In transport, RPC manufactures fire-rated interiors and safety-critical structures for Australia’s leading train fleets. Under engineering leaders Virginie Murphy and Simon Karpeles, RPC has pioneered corrosion-resistant pump columns, mine vent ducting, and GRP infrastructure for desalination and wastewater projects.
Their work strengthens Australia’s sovereign capability through innovation in composite materials and manufacturing.
