Geelong engineering support services

The Engineering Network Geelong (ENG) consists of over 50 diverse industry members, and is another major area of focus for the Geelong Manufacturing Council. The Engineering Network Geelong facilitates networks amongst the region’s group of engineering companies to provide engineering solutions, leadership, promotion and advocacy, and increase work opportunities across its members.

Network members have the capability to design, procure, project manage, fabricate and deliver to site any size project that is transportable. The members also provide:

  • Engineering consultancy engineering support services and process solutions
  • Professional engineering services for mechanical, electrical/electronic, process, structural, environmental, project management consulting and commissioning
  • Fabrication services for structural steel, pressure vessels and piping, heat exchangers, plate work, aluminium and alloys, storage tanks, stainless steel piping and vessels, iron and steel casting, sheet metal, abrasive blasting and painting and galvanizing
  • Machining and general engineering services for precision machining, heavy machining, balancing, custom-built machines, materials-handling equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, components, laser cutting, and shaft reclamation
  • Electrical/electronic control and installation
  • Renewable-energy capabilities
  • Advanced engineering and trade skills provision from Deakin University and Gordon TAFE.

The Engineering Network Geelong itself is involved in a number of areas of activity, including:

  • Gathering data on regional engineering skills and capability
  • Establishment of cluster infrastructure
  • Briefing sessions on regional opportunities
  • Preparation of marketing material
  • Information sessions on major projects
  • Briefing by major project proponents across Australia
  • Sending delegations to major industry events
  • Coordinating bids for major projects.
