The organisation was recognised as a leader in the maritime industry for its significant work in addressing environmental impacts of shipping and port operations in Corio Bay.

Geelong Port Chief Executive Officer, Brett Winter, said, “Since the launch of our inaugural Environment Strategy in 2019, we set out with the vision of becoming Australia’s most environmentally sustainable bulk port with a focus on minimising our resource use, eliminating waste and emissions, nurturing our port land and supporting an appealing and healthy Corio Bay.

“Since then, our team has worked tirelessly to deliver a number of significant outcomes that are resulting in improvements to our business, our community and most importantly, our environment. “

Mr Winter highlighted the work of the entire Geelong Port team, and in particular the Environment and Sustainability team led by Dr Lisa Mills.
