Congratulations to GMC member Modularity by Rendine on its role in helping deliver more social housing across Victoria through advanced modular construction. The Victorian Government has announced that more than 350 factory-built social homes will be delivered by mid-2028, with an additional 48 accessible and energy-efficient homes to be manufactured at Modularity by Rendine’s Geelong facility.
More than 70 modular social homes have already been delivered across Greater Geelong, Ararat, Ballarat, Greater Bendigo, Wellington, Hindmarsh, Gippsland, Gannawarra, Campaspe and Central Goldfields, with a further 136 homes currently under construction.
The initiative highlights the important role manufacturing can play in addressing complex social and economic challenges. By applying the principles of modern manufacturing, including controlled production environments, standardised processes and efficient resource management, modular construction enables high-quality homes to be delivered faster and with reduced onsite disruption.
It is another strong example of Geelong’s manufacturing expertise delivering practical solutions that increase housing supply, create local jobs and support communities across Victoria.
