More than 80 GMC members and Health and Safety Representatives joined the GMC WorkSafe Manufacturing Breakfast on Friday 14 August, filling the room for a valuable morning of practical insights and industry connection. Attendees put their questions directly to WorkSafe Victoria experts, including an ergonomist, engineer, and senior representatives from claims, premiums and self-insurance.
The program also featured Dale Smith from GMC member Scaada Environmental & Sustainability, who outlined the upcoming Workplace Exposure Limits, which take effect on 1 December 2026. Deakin University Research & Innovation and the Deakin Institute for Intelligent Systems showcased opportunities for industry collaboration, while Air Radiators’ Philip Nicol, Shashi Fernando and Jamie Brown shared reflections from GMC’s Leadership for Manufacturing Excellence Program.
