GMC member Davidsons shared the following warning about official‑looking notices being sent to Australian businesses that appear to relate to ASIC obligations.
These notices are not being sent by ASIC.
They commonly offer to assist with matters such as:
Annual company reviews
Business name renewals
ASIC registry updates
Some of these notices are scams. Others are sent by legitimate third-party providers who charge significantly higher fees for basic tasks, while disclosing in fine print that they are not affiliated with ASIC.
What to do if you receive one:
Do not pay
Do not respond
Do not click links or provide information
