GMC is pleased to announce that Federal Minister for Industry and Innovation, Senator the Hon Tim Ayres, will deliver the opening keynote at the 2026 Technology & Innovation Summit in Geelong later this month.
GMC CEO Jenn Conley said the Summit provides a timely opportunity for local manufacturers to hear directly from the Federal Government about its approach to industry reform, innovation and strengthening domestic manufacturing.
“We’re pleased that Minister Ayres will join us at the Summit for his first visit to Geelong as Minister for Industry and Innovation,” Ms Conley said. “It’s a valuable opportunity for industry to engage with the Government’s policies and to discuss the challenges facing manufacturing in Australia, while also showcasing Geelong’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and innovative local businesses.”
Ms Conley said the challenges facing Australian manufacturers—including global competition, supply chain risk and geopolitical uncertainty- highlight the growing importance of industrial sovereignty.
Key topics in the Minister’s address are expected to include the recently released Ambitious Australia report, which calls for bold reform of Australia’s innovation system, alongside major policy initiatives such as the Future Made in Australia strategy aimed at boosting domestic manufacturing.
This year’s Technology & Innovation Summit brings together an exceptional mix of industry and manufacturing leaders, policymakers, innovators and venture capitalists, offering a unique chance to engage directly with the influential voices shaping the future of advanced manufacturing – all in one room, on one day.
Don’t miss this opportunity.
