Strengthening the manufacturing workforce

December 11, 2025

This year, GMC’s Women in Manufacturing Network Mentoring Program brought together 62 participants across regional Victoria, including 22 in Geelong, representing a diverse cross-section of manufacturing organisations. The results have been transformative.

Key Outcomes:

  • Confidence and Contribution: Both mentees and mentors reported a significant boost in mentees’ confidence, shaping how they approach their roles, recognise the value of their skills, and manage mental load and life balance.
  • Career Perspective: Mentees gained a deeper understanding of the non-linear nature of career paths and the importance of embracing challenges and opportunities, even when they fall outside the original plan.
  • Organisational Impact: Participants highlighted personal growth and improved value contribution to their organisations as standout benefits.
