Congratulations to GMC member Hanlon Industries on their amazing 2025 Apprenticeship Competition held earlier this month.
The competition, which is held annually, showcased 20 steel pieces created by Hanlon apprentices – this year’s theme was Aussie Icon. In a showcase of their skill and creativity, apprentices created replicas of iconic Australian symbols like the Sydney Harbour bridge, vegemite, thongs, the Hills Hoist and even the Ettamogah Pub!
A huge crowd including Hanlon staff, industry, government and community representatives, attended to celebrate their work, with all of the pieces auctioned off to support the Barwon Health Foundation’s mental health care.
Well done to Hanlon for putting in a huge amount of work to support their apprentices in a unique way, and demonstrating why this great Geelong family business has now grown to 200 employees with sites in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.
