What is GLAM?
Girls Leading Advance Manufacturing (GLAM) is a program that is targeted at school aged girls in years 9, 10 and 11 and will give the participants a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes in some of Geelong’s major manufacturing companies.
The program consists of workplace tours and hands on workshops from April to November. A few of the opportunities include:
- With thanks to one of our partners FLAIM participants try first hand virtual reality fire immersion, feel the heat from a heat vest, and feel the water flowing from a high flow fire fighter hose.
- Go beyond public access and see the exciting new projects at Viva Energy
- Experience how 16km of carpet is made everyday at Godfrey Hirst makes
After the completion of the program, participants are eligible to apply for a scholarship with funds going towards STEMS education and/or training expenses.
Applications close on Wednesday 24 April 2024.
