Think Fencing sets sights global

May 16, 2023

Led by visionary owner and founder Jack Fitzgerald, GMC member Think Fencing’s commitment to sustainability and its dedication to creating high-quality products have not only gained recognition worldwide but exemplify the thriving potential of the region.

GMC member Think Fencing Pty Ltd is being recognised for its innovative work utilising proprietary PVC recycling technology to turn what would have been landfill into sustainable fencing and decking solutions.

The company, located in the Bellarine Peninsula, has gained worldwide recognition for its composite fencing materials, which are used in a variety of applications such as Thoroughbred Race tracks, AFL sporting grounds, and Picket Fencing.

Recognizing the need to improve the recycling of PVC scrap, owner and founder Jack Fitzgerald developed innovative technology that allows for the conversion of PVC scrap into high-quality products, which would otherwise have been destined to landfill.

Think Fencing expanded its offerings to include decking, leading to the creation of new jobs in the manufacturing sector and further evidence that Geelong’s manufacturing industry is thriving.

Jack tells GMC that the company is investigating taking the technology global.

He was bouyed by a recent visit from Victorian Premier, Dan Andrews, to the Think Fencing facility in Portarlington.

“It was a great visit and really re-inforced that what we are doing is being recognised and making a difference,” Jack said.

It was Think Fencing’s focus on innovation in sustainability along with its long history in local manufacturing that led to its recognition with the Viva Energy Award for Excellence in Sustainability in Manufacturing at GMC’s 25th anniversary awards evening earlier this year.
