Congratulations to GMC Chair, Lyn George on being awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in this week’s Queen’s Birthday Honours. Lyn, who is Director at Geelong engineering business Austeng, received the medal in recognition of her service to the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Lyn’s work at Austeng and as a GMC Director since 2015, has focused on creating an innovative advanced manufacturing and engineering environment in Geelong. She is a passionate supporter of transformative start-ups and for leveraging research and development to create world-class, commercial solutions. Lyn was instrumental in the establishment of GMC’s Women in Manufacturing Network and continues to advocate for opportunities and advancement of women in the sector.
