Gmc-connect

Members are warmly invited to join our bi-monthly GMC Connect member meeting on Tuesday 4 June.  The June breakfast will include a briefing and tour of one of Australia’s most sophisticated manufacturing innovation hubs: Deakin University’s Manufutures facility.

GMC Members will have an opportunity to learn about the capability, production services and opportunities available through ManuFutures, and will be briefed on the new Recycling and Clean Energy Commercialisation Hub (REACH) program, including an industry partner Case Study.

About ManuFutures

ManuFutures is Deakin University’s advanced manufacturing innovation hub, located at Waurn Ponds Campus. In 2023, ManuFutures doubled in size, thanks to funding by the Victorian Government ($10 million) and Deakin University ($10 million) as part of the Government’s $350 million Victorian Higher Education State Investment Fund. The new-look ManuFutures building delivers an increased number of tenancy opportunities, new manufacturing incubator programs, training and product engineering services.

About REACH

Deakin’s Recycling and Clean Energy Commercialisation Hub (REACH) is Australia’s largest recycling and clean energy advanced manufacturing ecosystem. Supported by a $50 million grant from the Australian Government’s Trailblazer Universities Program, contributions from industry and research take the total program value to $380 million.  REACH’s goal is also to build a Community of Practice among trailblazing partners who have compelling ideas for novel solutions, and who want to scale up and commercialise clean technology projects to capture new markets.
