Australia’s manufacturing industry is undergoing rapid transformation, driven by technological advancement, new growth sectors and an escalating need for a skilled and adaptable workforce.
Yet, as revealed in the 2024 Manufacturing Workforce Plan, we face a significant challenge: not enough new entrants are choosing pathways into manufacturing—largely due to outdated perceptions and low awareness of the sector’s modern opportunities.
The three-month pilot campaign will be run across Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland to help showcase manufacturing as modern, innovative and essential to Australia’s future highlighting career opportunities in technology, design, sustainability and advanced production encouraging young people to explore pathways into manufacturing.
